2018 Newcastle China Business Forum

A/Prof Hao Tan was invited to give a keynote speech entitled “Technology transfer, trade war, and the innovation system in China” in the recent Newcastle China Business Forum on 21 Sep 2018, as part of the Newcastle China Week in September. In his speech, A/Prof Hao Tan was engaged with a topical issue, i.e. the recent trade war between the US and China and its relationships with the technology transfer and indigenous technology development in China. He analysed the different faces of the innovation in China, and argued that multiple strategies are required to manage and leverage Australia’s relationship with China in this area.
