Interview with the Newcastle Herald

The Newcastle Herald has recently published a full-page story based on an interview with Associate Professor Hao Tan on stimulus spending on green energy technologies in Australia and elsewhere. In the interview, A/Professor Tan discussed recent experiences of some East Asian countries in their use of the crisis to build political consensus and mobilise resources for addressing some long-term structural problems facing the economy and the environment. Associate Professor Hao Tan has also been quoted in two other recent articles in The Newcastle Herald, including in an article on 17 Sep in which A/Prof Tan has commented on the Australian government ‘s recent announcement in relation to its $1.9 billion plan on future energy technologies, and another article on 3 Oct in which he has commented on life cycles of renewables.
